Being a local Bridgeport Southside wiseguy, I knew I should check out the relatively new (opened late February 2018) Marz Community Taproom and Kitchen which was started by mastermind Ed Marszewski, (hence, da “Marz” in Marz Community Brewing Company).

Marz Community Brewing Company is located in McKinley Park right near the border of my home neighborhood, Bridgeport. The owner, Ed, is a cool dude with a talent for making visions come true. He is also the Co-Founder of Maria’s Packaged Goods and Community Bar, Kimski (Polish-Korean fusion), Lumpen magazine and radio, and the well known Co-Prosperity Sphere, where they hold exhibitions, screenings, presentations, installations, meetings, and live performances.

The space at Marz Community Brewing Company is awesomely designed with a futuristic flow, it’s slathered with unique artwork created by local artist’s and a killer view of the brewery floor. The artwork is definitely something cool to stare at while you’re enjoying one of their 24 beers on tap. My favorite was the “Jungle Boogie.” It’s infused with Rooibos tea and it goes great with the Chef Tony’s house made Italian Sazzage (Sausage). Be careful, the sausage packs more heat then the oven door. If you’re not a drinker you have some other options—a variety of non-alcoholic drinks, cold brew coffee, and let’s not forget the house made kombucha. (Word on the streets is that kombucha helps with grey hair, wrinkles, and increases your libido; with all these claims, you can count me in!) All in all, it’s a great experience, in an awesome neighborhood. If you’re looking for a nice time out and some amazing brews, check this joint out and tell ’em Cousin Vinnie sent ya!
