ACTIVATE (EVO)lution Tonight on the Chicago Riverwalk
ACTIVATE is an annual series of pop-up arts programs launched in 2014. ACTIVATE takes alleys and other unexpected places and transforms them into creative exhibition spaces and brings people together in these spaces for an evening of exploration, interaction, and celebration This year, for the first time ever, the Chicago Loop Alliance teamed up with a single team, Canvas Chicago, to curate and produce the entire 2018 ACTIVATE season.

“(EVO)lution” refers to EVO, a fictional muse representing all of the artistic intentions in Chicago that lead to the continuous evolution of the city’s modern-day arts and culture. EVO is able to open portals to parallel universes, so each ACTIVATE event will see a location in the Loop transformed, with attendees transported to an alternate version of the same space.
Tonight’s event at the Chicago Riverwalk is dubbed, “EVO’s Bazaar” and was inspired by the historic trading post that was once on this River Walk location.
